Clay Matthews Relists His Massive Calabasas Mansion for $28M

Former NFL linebacker Clay Matthews has hoisted his Calabasas, CA, mansion back onto the market for $27,995,000.

Matthews and his wife, “Design on a Dime” host Casey Noble Matthews, picked up the land in 2013 for $2.6 million, then built their mansion in 2020. They listed the property for $29,995,000 in July 2021 and early 2022. It came back on the market this week at a discounted price.

Clay Matthews was released by the Los Angeles Rams in 2020 after a single season. Now that they’re no longer tied to Southern California, he and his wife have relocated to Nashville to be closer to family, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Their Calabasas mansion is located in the Estates at the Oaks, an enclave favored by celebrities and members of the Kardashian family.

The 14,021-square-foot home has seven bedrooms and 11 baths. Designed in the French provincial style, it features antique wood beams, detailed millwork, and wide-plank walnut flooring.

A double-height foyer opens to a great room, and the chef’s kitchen comes with a dining nook. Accordion doors open to the outdoor living and dining spaces.

The wood-paneled office is adorned with football memorabilia and comes with a large aquarium.

The primary suite is divine, featuring a private balcony and a luxe bath with custom vanities.

The lower level features a wine cellar, gym, home theater, and nine-car garage.

Set on 1.63 acres with Santa Monica Mountain views, the property features a pool and spa, sport court, grassy lawn, goldfish pond, rose garden, and fire pit. 

Matthews, 35 and a native Californian, starred as a linebacker for the Green Bay Packers from 2009 to 2018. He hasn’t played since the Rams released him after the 2019 season. The Super Bowl champion is a six-time Pro Bowler.
