“Avatar” star Sam Worthington still wants to sell his Hollywood home.
Earlier this year, the actor put the property up for sale with an asking price of $9.25 million.
With no takers, the luxe home reappeared on the market in mid-October—with a price increase, offered at $9.5 million. The pricing plot twist didn’t last long. In mid-November, the figure was brought back down to the current $9.25 million.
Located in a sought-after neighborhood minutes away from the Sunset Strip, the chic take on a Cape Cod offers a sweet blend of indoor and outdoor living. Completed in 2015, the five-bedroom home is set behind gates and privacy hedges to keep prying eyes at bay.
As you enter this elegant residence, you’ll see a grand foyer, splendid chandeliers, lovely hardwood floors, and a beautiful staircase that leads to the upper level. The spacious and open living area offers a fireplace, elevated ceilings, and vanishing Fleetwood doors that open to the outdoor patio.
The living space seamlessly flows into the gourmet kitchen, which features marble and quartz counters, as well as a butler’s pantry.
A lavish master suite with a fireplace opens to a private balcony with views and walk-in closets. The master bathroom offers an oversized shower and a free-standing tub with views of the yard.
On the upper level, there are two additional large bedrooms, each with en suite bathrooms.
Other high-end features include a separate guesthouse with a screening room, exercise room, and sauna. A Lutron smart-home system is installed throughout, along with detailed wood paneling that enriches this “stylish and sophisticated” estate.
The three-car garage is located directly behind the home, which is easily accessible on a cul-de-sac that offers ample of off-street parking for guests.
According to Variety, Worthington purchased the estate less than two years ago from the producer Simon Kinberg, for just shy of $7.9 million.
Worthington, 44, is an Australian who had his big Hollywood breakthrough in 2009 with roles in “Terminator Salvation” and “Avatar.” He has kept busy with a number of films over the last decade, and is reprising his role as Jake Sully in the forthcoming “Avatar” sequels.
The home is represented by Jonathan Ruiz with The Agency.
