It was anything but dog eat dog when the pampered pooches of America’s 1 % were feted at Oceana Bal Harbour, the pricey new Bal Harbour, Florida condominium community. The occasion? A day of five-star pampering featuring three of the area’s top dog influencers, to launch Oceana Bal Harbour’s new pet grooming spa.
The VIPs (Very Important Pups) attending the gala began the day by arriving at the luxury property’s porte-cochere for a photo opportunity adjacent to Oceana’s multi-million-dollar Jeff Koons sculpture. Following a warm reception from the doorman, the pups waited turns for their spa treatments. Having donned doggie robes, they kicked back with cooling eye masks, soothing aromas and a few quaffs of cucumber water.
Once inside the spa, the VIPs received a basic groom, including a soothing bath with organic shampoo and conditioner, followed by a blow dry, brush out, teeth brushing, nail trim, ear cleaning and organic cologne. They then were fitted with bandana or bowtie.
The next step was to make it a full groom, which included a full haircut and hair style distinguished by hand scissoring. Available additional grooming services at the pet grooming spa include doggy massage, exfoliating mud bath, salt bath, color specific shampoos, nail polish, de-shedding treatment and de-matting treatment.
To conclude their very special day, the canines savored a “pawdicure party” and later took part in “Yappy Hour,” sunbathing at Oceana’s resident-only eatery, Ballerina.
Myriad big-name corporate magnates call Oceana Bal Harbour home. If dog owners, they will likely appreciate the pet spa. Among them are Argentine art mogul Eduardo Costantini; Paraguayan magnate Jorge A. Riquelme; auto magnate Phillip H. Resnick and Nancy Resnick; Fidelity Investments portfolio manager Mark Notkin; Accenture managing director Paul Rakowski and Estee Lauder Companies vice president Amy DiGeso; and NetApp vice chairman Tom Mendoza, as well as a roster of foreign buyers.
Its pet grooming spa is but one of the facets that helps put Oceana Bal Harbour on the map for the most exclusive homebuyers in South Florida. The high-end community is perhaps best known for its resident co-owned blue-chip art collection, featuring two larger-than-life Jeff Koons sculptures. Also included in the Oceana Bal Harbour collection are masterworks by globally-recognized artists Callum Innes, An Te Liu, Jorge Mendez Blake, Taryn Simon, Juan Usle and Garth Weiser.
Oceana Bal Harbour features 240 aesthetically rich luxury residences extending in price from $3 million to $30 million in price.
Oceana is also home to a world-class WTS International-operated spa highly sought by residents who seek relaxed rejuvenation. Among spa offerings are Deep Tissue, Aromatherapy, Hot Stone and Swedish massages and others. Skincare services are furnished in combination with GeeBeauty, offering organic facials for all skin types.
In the company of their pets, Oceana residents can unplug and kick back at one of the quartet of furnished poolside cabanas designed by internationally-acclaimed Italian designer Piero Lissoni. A central reservation system enables residents to book for the day at no cost the 400-square-foot private climate-controlled cabanas. They come equipped with kitchenettes, bathrooms, LCD TV screens, lounge seating and arresting original objets d’art. Controllable through the Oceana Bal Harbour app, the cabanas are considered extensions of the residents’ homes.
More than 80 percent sold, the all-glass, 28-floor tower features many other amenities, among them a 24-hour concierge service; the aforementioned Ballerina, the gourmet residents-only restaurant run by Toscano Divino; valet parking; relaxation pool and Olympic-style lap pool.
Rounding out the rostrum of extras is a grand salon with chef’s kitchen and bar; children’s activities room; cinema and underground parking.
